Firstly, all IC posts belong in![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
shadowcity. The posting format is pretty simple, and so is the tagging system. There will be tags for everything. Your character will have a tag, whether or not the post is a log or a transmission will have a tag, whether it's night or day in your post will have a tag. Your foot will not have a tag, why would you even ask that?
Log Post Format
Logs are third person, past or present tense posts of characters interacting in person. The subject line should begin with [Log], and include a rating (we've simplified our rating system down to NSFW and SFW) and whether or not the log is open to anyone or closed for a specific group of characters. A title for your log is optional, but totally encouraged.
example:
[Log] Cannibal Mutants and Midnight Mani-Pedis - SFW - Open
Have some fun with it, you know?
The body of your post should contain the following information:
Comm Posts Format
Comm posts are transmissions that go over The City's network. These posts can either be Video, Voice, or Text, which should be indicated in the subject line. Comm posts are marked as either Private, or Public, and should be rated according to content.
example:
[Video] Private: Recipient - SFW
You can totally give your comm posts titles like your log posts. Titles are fun.
Using Cuts
Cuts should be used for any posts longer than a paragraph, and for any posts labelled as NSFW. Cut text should include any and all warnings for adult content. If there's going to be smut, use a cut. Possibly triggery material? Use a cut, and make sure the warnings are clearly visible.
Tags
Tags are how players will be able to narrow down their search and find that one post they really want to get in on, so make sure to use the appropriate tags. Your character will have a tag of their own, and should be tagged in anything they post or reply to. The character tag format will be "fandom: character name".
Other tags will be:
day
night
open
closed
sfw
nsfw
log
comm
More tags will be added as necessary, or removed if they're not really helpful in practice. Any tag alterations will be announced inshadowcityooc.
